In recent months, Arsenal has already extended the contracts of Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Magalhaes. According to The Athletic, Nelson is also on the verge of extending his expiring contract. He will soon sign a new contract that will keep him in London for an additional four years.

In earlier statements, Nelson expressed his desire to stay at the club. This season, he appeared in ten Premier League matches for Arsenal, all as a substitute. Despite his limited playing time, he made a significant impact with three goals and two assists. His cameo against Bournemouth is particularly memorable for the fans. Coming on as a substitute with twenty minutes remaining, he single-handedly turned the match around with a goal and an assist, leading Arsenal to victory.

The 23-year-old Englishman came through Arsenal's youth academy. Since making his debut in 2017, Nelson has been loaned out twice. In the 2018/19 season, he spent a year at Hoffenheim, and last season he was under contract with Feyenoord. In the Eredivisie, Nelson contributed two goals and four assists in 21 appearances.
