Arteta grants Timber an immediate Premier League debut

Jurriën Timber has a starting position in Arsenal's first league match against Nottingham Forest. The former Ajax player begins, just like last week in the English Super Cup, on the left side of the defense.

Mikel Arteta has chosen to start all three of Arsenal's major acquisitions against Forest. Record signing Declan Rice plays in midfield alongside Kai Havertz, who came from Chelsea, and captain Martin Ødegaard.

As expected, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are playing from the flanks, and in the absence of the injured Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah has been designated as the striker.

Timber was the replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko in his first official appearance for Arsenal against Manchester City last week. This is the case again now. Arteta has made adjustments to his defense. Benjamin White forms the central duo with William Saliba on paper, creating an opening on the right side of the defense for Thomas Partey. Defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior, and Gabriel Magalhães are on the bench.
