During Bayern Munich's cup embarrassment against FC Saarbrücken, De Ligt was forced off early with a knee injury, which had already troubled him earlier this season. As a result, he missed matches against Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, and FC Heidenheim, and he will also be absent against FC Köln, as his coach Thomas Tuchel revealed in the press conference.

'Matthijs is still not ready, and Jamal Musiala is also out,' said Tuchel. 'In addition, we have to be cautious with Raphaël Guerreiro. He had minor complaints, so we need to wait and see with him.' However, the Portuguese is not the only doubtful case at Bayern. 'We are closely monitoring the situations of Konrad Laimer, Min-Jae Kim, and Alphonso Davies, who were heavily burdened during the international break, so we will decide later if they can play.'

Bayern faces FC Köln on Friday evening at 8:30 PM. Apart from the cup debacle, Bayern has been performing well in recent months. Out of fifteen matches played in the league and the Champions League, they have won thirteen and drawn two. In the Bundesliga, Bayern is two points behind the leader, Bayer Leverkusen.
