The Al Ittihad team, featuring star player Karim Benzema, has thanked Nuno Espírito Santo for his services. The Portuguese coach must leave after a dramatic series of results.
The reigning champions Al Ittihad occupy a very disappointing sixth place after twelve rounds in the Saudi Pro League. Expectations were much higher, especially after the signings of players like Benzema, Fabinho, and N'Golo Kanté.
According to various media, Nuno had a difficult relationship with the stars of the team, with Benzema in particular reportedly pushing for the appointment of a new coach.
Previously, Nuno has worked as the head coach for Valencia, FC Porto, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Tottenham Hotspur. At the latter club, the former goalkeeper was only in charge for a few months in 2021. He lasted sixteen months at Al Ittihad.
