Ansu Fati is going to work at Brighton & Hove Albion. He is coming on loan from Barcelona and will spend a year working in England. There is no option to buy in the loan deal.
For years, Fati was known as one of the biggest talents of his generation. However, due to injuries, he could not always count on a regular starting position under Xavi. Therefore, he was eager to go on loan, and Barcelona was also willing to cooperate.
Several clubs, including Sevilla and Brighton & Hove Albion, were interested in the services of the winger. According to Spanish media, the English team will cover eighty percent of his salary, which amounts to approximately five million euros. Sevilla reportedly was not willing to pay that salary.
Fati made 112 appearances for Barcelona's first team in four years, scoring 29 goals. In addition, he has earned nine caps for the Spanish national team. At Brighton, he will be playing alongside Dutch players Joël Veltman and Bart Verbruggen.
Brighton will face Ajax in the Europa League, which means they will be up against Fati.
