Struijk still has a contract with Leeds until mid-2027, despite the club's relegation from the Premier League last season. This means that Brugge will have to pay a transfer fee to bring the defender to Belgium. The exact amount that Leeds' management has in mind is not known.

Struijk, born in Deurne, Belgium, started his football journey in the youth academies of ADO Den Haag and Ajax. At the age of seventeen, he made the decision to transfer to Leeds, where he fought his way into the starting lineup. This earned him a place in the pre-selection for the World Cup in Qatar. However, then-manager Louis van Gaal ultimately did not include him in the final squad.

If Brugge manages to acquire Struijk, they will be bringing in a player with substantial experience. The Dutchman has participated in 85 Premier League matches, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
