Dani would have gladly exchanged the enjoyment of his time at Ajax for a career as a top footballer

During his time at Ajax, there was always something happening around the footballer Dani. The flamboyant Portuguese player was that great talent with an overdose of ball control in his left foot, while also being the nightlife ambassador of Amsterdam and the main sponsor of the fine jar. Former team manager David Endt still keeps in touch with Dani. 'Life in Amsterdam was one big temptation for him,' Endt reflects.

Nowadays, Dani regrets not making the most out of his time at Ajax. 'Every time we talk, we come back to how things went at Ajax

He also feels that he didn't perform up to his potential. He admits that he only achieved about sixty percent of his career. It doesn't frustrate him; he knows it's the consequence of the choices he made, but he still feels a bit sad about it.'

'You see,' Endt continues, 'Dani immensely enjoyed his time in Amsterdam. But I believe that at this moment, he would gladly exchange the enjoyment he had back then for the pleasure of having a career as a global top footballer.' Interestingly, Dani's lifestyle during that time hasn't left him empty-handed today. Currently, he resides in a lavish villa with a swimming pool. Endt chuckles as he recalls, 'he said to me, "I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid".'
