Rasmus Kristensen is on the verge of a move to AS Roma. The former defender, who has previously played for Ajax among others, will undergo a medical examination in the Italian capital on Friday, according to Sky Italia.
According to Italian reports, Kristensen is already in Rome, where he will undergo the usual tests on Friday morning. If no issues arise, Roma will sign the Danish player on loan from Leeds United for one season. The clubs have already agreed on the terms, and Kristensen has already given his consent to I Giallorossi.
The now 26-year-old Kristensen played for Ajax for a year and a half between January 2018 and the summer of 2019. He struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Amsterdam and moved to Red Bull Salzburg, where he caught the attention once again. Roma had already expressed interest in Kristensen last year. However, the Danish player opted for a Premier League adventure with Leeds United at the time.
Kristensen played 26 league matches in the past season in England but couldn't prevent Leeds United's relegation. He won't be joining them in the Championship, as he will now join Roma instead. In José Mourinho's team, he will compete with Rick Karsdorp for a place in the squad.
