Teze played three international matches under Louis van Gaal, which are now almost a year and a half ago. The defender featured in the Nations League, playing twice against Wales and once against Poland. After that, he fell out of view.

"I think I'm not far from the national team if I continue on this path," Teze shares in an extensive interview with VI. "Ultimately, it's up to me to leave the coach with no choice, so that he has to select me. I'm doing my utmost, and through the combination of defensive certainty and attacking impulses, I can enforce that."

"I see it as an advantage that I can play in multiple positions," Teze continues. "The coaches know that too. It is a goal for me to return to the national team; I want to experience the European Championship in Germany. But first, the performances with PSV count."
