The Iraq-Jordan match during the Asian Cup round of 16 will be remembered for the controversial expulsion of Aymen Hussein on Monday.

The Iraqi forward received his second yellow card for his exuberant celebration after scoring a goal. The official website of the Asian Cup cited 'excessive celebration' as the reason for his expulsion.

In the 76th minute, after netting the 2-1 goal for his team, the Al Quwa Al Jawiya striker celebrated by interacting with fans near the stands. Upon returning to the field, he sat down and mimicked the celebratory gesture made by the Jordanian team when they scored their 0-1 goal earlier in the match.

The referee promptly showed Hussein a second yellow card, reducing Iraq to ten men. Jordan later mounted a comeback, scoring goals in the 90+5 and 90+7 minutes, securing a 2-3 victory. This dramatic win propelled them to the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will face Tajikistan.

It's worth mentioning that Osama Rashid, the midfielder from Vizela, started the game for Iraq but was substituted in the 63rd minute. Additionally, Aymen Hussein stands out as the tournament's top scorer with an impressive total of six goals.
