Under Howe, Newcastle has found its way up, but at the same time, there have been changes at the club that could potentially affect his future.

"As long as I am happy in the position I'm in, feel supported by the club, and am free to work in the way I want to work, yes," Howe responded to Sky Sports when asked if he wants to stay at Newcastle.

"For me, that has always been my main driving force: my happiness and my ability to do my job. I absolutely want to stay, but it has to be right for me and the club. There is absolutely no point in saying I want to stay if the dynamics aren't right."

Several board members of Newcastle recently left, bringing a fresh wind to the club. According to The Times, Howe wants to stay at Newcastle as long as he doesn't have to give up control over policy. "A lot has changed at the club this summer. It's been a difficult summer for everyone involved with the club and with change always comes a new feeling. I have no problem with that, but naturally, I need to be happy in my work. I need to feel that this is something that both I and the club can benefit from, so it works. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I can't say for certain where that will lead because the club is the most important thing."

Howe is mentioned as a possible candidate for the England national team coach position, which Gareth Southgate vacated this week. "I think England is a very special job for anyone. I'm not ashamed to say that. I love my country and want my country to do well."

"I feel sorry for Gareth and the boys that they didn't win the Euros. But I don't have the burning desire to do this at all costs right now. I've said before: if it ever happens in the future, then perhaps. If not, I am very happy in my current role."

In addition to his comments about his happiness and job satisfaction, Howe elaborated on the challenges and changes faced by Newcastle United over the summer. The departure of key board members has created a sense of uncertainty, but also an opportunity for new ideas and approaches to take root. Howe acknowledged the difficulties but also expressed optimism about the future. "Change can be challenging, but it can also bring new opportunities and perspectives. We need to embrace this period of transition and use it to strengthen our club."

Howe's potential move to manage the England national team has been a topic of speculation, especially with the recent departure of Gareth Southgate. The England role is one of the most prestigious and high-pressure jobs in football, often seen as a pinnacle for many managers. Howe's balanced view on the matter reflects his measured approach to his career. "Managing England would be an honor for any coach. It's a role that comes with immense pride and responsibility. However, I don't feel an urgent need to pursue it right now. My focus remains on my current job and ensuring that I can continue to contribute positively to Newcastle's progress."

Howe's ability to keep his options open while remaining committed to his current role speaks to his professional integrity and strategic thinking. As Newcastle United navigates through its changes and challenges, Howe's leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards continued success. The football community will be closely watching how this situation unfolds, particularly with the backdrop of a potential national team role in the future. For now, Howe's priority is clear: to maintain his happiness and effectiveness as Newcastle's head coach, ensuring both he and the club thrive in the evolving landscape of football.
