Rodrygo often plays as a central striker at Real Madrid, but he honestly admits having a different preference. The Brazilian prefers to be positioned on the wings. However, due to Karim Benzema's departure to Saudi Arabia, Rodrygo has been placed in the striker position by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The 22-year-old Rodrygo, who has been with Real Madrid for three years, is originally a right-winger.
'I have always made it clear that I have the qualities to play on the flanks. I just don't like playing as a number nine, even if I have to do that at my club. In Brazil, I have more freedom of movement,' Rodrygo tells Marca.
The Brazilian national coach is less concerned about this. 'Sometimes I'm on the sides, sometimes in the middle. Each attacker has his own style and plays differently. It depends on how the team performs and the attack plans.'
Rodrygo has one goal and one assist in nine league matches this season. Last season, he recorded nine goals and eight assists.
