Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas has provided insight into his ambitions. The ambitious MLS club aims to bring about a revolution in American soccer. The catalyst is the acquisition of Lionel Messi, but the Cuban-American businessman would ideally also like to bring in some other big names to his club.
In addition to Messi, Sergio Busquets has also joined Inter Miami. Mas has set the tone with these signings and is thrilled with the arrival of the two stars. Mas even stated to El País that convincing Busquets to follow Messi was essential for the success of the project. "For us, it was crucial to surround Messi with players of his caliber."
"We had been in talks with Busí for about a year," Mas continued. As a result, the club icon could be snatched away from Barcelona. "His presence in the locker room will be incredibly important, especially for the young players."
The shopping spree is not over yet. Mas confirmed that there are more signings in the works. One of them is Jordi Alba. The left-back is one of Messi's friends and has also announced his departure from Barça. "There will be two more, maybe even three. Is Jordi Alba one of them? Talks have been held with him."
There is also reported interest in Luis Suárez. The Uruguayan has been a close friend of Messi for years. However, Mas mentioned that his arrival is more challenging. "He is already under contract with Grêmio. I'm not sure if we can lure him away. We also spoke with Ángel Di María, but he is going somewhere else."
