In Saudi Arabia, Keizer signed a one-season contract with Al-Shabab. Last year, Al-Shabab finished fourth in the regular league competition. Unlike most of the top clubs in the country, they refrained from making big transfers in this transfer window.

Keizer's first major test is scheduled for Wednesday when Al-Shabab faces Al-Nassr. Al-Nassr has been eager to spend money, having brought in Cristiano Ronaldo last winter, and this summer they have added players like Marcelo Brozovic and Alex Telles.

Last season, Keizer was in charge of Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates before departing this summer. Former national team coach Frank de Boer has succeeded him there.
