Frank Lampard will not be taking a position in Scotland after all. The unaffiliated manager seemed to be on his way to Rangers FC, but his name can be crossed off. The top club is not interested in a collaboration.
According to Sky Sports, Rangers have removed the Chelsea icon from the shortlist. Earlier this week, The Telegraph reported that the Englishman had set his sights on a position in Glasgow, but that will not come to fruition. During several job interviews, Lampard reportedly failed to make a sufficient impression on the club's leadership.
Since the dismissal of Michael Beale, Rangers have been looking for a new manager. Beale took over last season, succeeding the also-departed Giovanni van Bronckhorst. According to Sky, a new head coach will be introduced shortly.
The British medium reports that Yokohama Marinos coach Kevin Muscat is a significant candidate, while former Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement is also in the running. Kjetil Knutsen, who was mentioned at Ajax last summer, is also said to be of interest to Rangers.
