Liverpool lured Alexis Mac Allister away from Brighton & Hove Albion, and now the supporters eagerly await who will be the second signing for the new season. It could very well be Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Szoboszlai has been linked with Liverpool for some time now, and according to The Athletic, action has been taken. It is reported that contact has been made with the management of the Hungarian international. However, a transfer is not a straightforward matter as RB Leipzig is reluctant to let go of Szoboszlai.

Reportedly, the attacking midfielder has a release clause of seventy million euros in his contract, although the expiration date of that clause is unclear.

Szoboszlai moved from RB Salzburg to RB Leipzig a year and a half ago and has played 91 games for the German club so far, helping them secure Champions League football last season and winning the DFB-Pokal once again. Jürgen Klopp is keen on bringing the midfielder, who can also excel as a winger, to Anfield.

Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season, missing out on Champions League football for the upcoming year. The Reds will be participating in the Europa League instead.
