Marcel Sabitzer has switched from Bayern Munich to Borussia Dortmund, and the Austrian has the mission to dethrone his former team as the most influential force in the Bundesliga, as he revealed in an interview.
In Bild, he also comments on his time at Der Rekordmeister. 'There were things that happened at Bayern that I didn't like. It was a childhood dream of mine to play there, and it was a period that shaped me, but it wasn't all positive.
I'll keep what happened there within the team. If you take a close look at my time there, you can probably imagine it yourself,' Sabitzer diplomatically stated.
Regardless of any feelings of revenge, the fact remains that the midfielder will have to dethrone Bayern if he wants to celebrate success with Dortmund. Just twenty hours after his transfer, Sabitzer was already on the training field, signaling his determination for what lies ahead. 'I come with the idea of helping the team further and making an impact,' said Sabitzer, who knows that his new club can genuinely compete.
'It was never easy to play against Dortmund as an opponent. I want to attack, enjoy my time here, and present myself in the league as I did in Leipzig.' Bayern brought Sabitzer from East Germany to Munich. He spent the first part of 2023 on loan at Manchester United.
