Erik ten Hag has looked ahead to the showdown against Arsenal. The Manchester United manager had good news regarding forward Rasmus Højlund. The marquee signing could make his debut at the Emirates Stadium.
"Yes, he had a good week of training," confirmed Ten Hag at the press conference regarding the introduction of his new striker. The Danish player arrived this summer for a substantial amount from Atalanta Bergamo but suffered an injury. As a result, Ten Hag couldn't call upon the replacement for Wout Weghorst, who had moved to Hoffenheim.
In London, it's expected that Højlund will make his debut against Arsenal. Ten Hag is looking forward to it. "We still have one final training session tomorrow. He needs to get through that, but things are looking positive. His body is responding well to the efforts."
"So, he will be available for Sunday for sure," Ten Hag gave his supporters good news. The former Ajax coach even hinted at a starting position for the Danish player. "I think he's ready to start."
One player who certainly isn't ready is Tyrell Malacia. Manchester United confirmed on Friday that the left-back is still injured. The same goes for Luke Shaw, which suggests that Sergio Reguilón, acquired on Deadline Day, is set to make his debut. Apart from Malacia and Shaw, Ten Hag won't have Amad Diallo, Tom Heaton, Kobbie Mainoo, and Mason Mount available either.
