Jurriën Timber had multiple transfer possibilities this summer, but no other options had a real chance besides Arsenal for the 22-year-old defender.

Prior to the 5-0 friendly victory against the MLS All Stars, Timber explained to The Mirror why his choice was quickly made. "It's a fantastic club. Look at last year. Of course, the previous years were also great, but last year you saw a big step. The team is growing, and I want to be a part of that."

"Sometimes, it's just a feeling," continued the man who left Ajax for over forty million euros. "The way they play, the way I talk to the coach. I just had a good feeling about it. We have a strong team. The expectations are high because they had a fantastic season last year and brought in some players."

"We are a good team. It was sad how last season ended, but we have a strong squad. It's strange, I've played more Champions League matches than some of my teammates, but these guys have Premier League experience, and that's on a different level."

Timber made a favorable impression on coach Mikel Arteta during his unofficial debut.
