This rewards Van de Ven for a strong season at VfL Wolfsburg. Out of 34 Bundesliga matches, he started in 33 of them. In the summer of 2021, the German club acquired him from FC Volendam for three and a half million euros.

According to English media, Tottenham is now transferring forty million euros to Wolfsburg, and Van de Ven can potentially earn an additional ten million euros for his former club through bonuses.

In Germany, Van de Ven had a contract until the summer of 2027, after extending his agreement in early March. The 22-year-old defender from Wormer has played eleven matches for Jong Oranje (the Dutch U21 national team), but he is still awaiting his debut for the senior Dutch national team.
