Arturo Vidal made his debut for Athletico Paranaense. Afterwards, he took a swipe at his former coach, Jorge Sampaoli.
The 36-year-old Vidal is currently playing for Athletic Paranaense, his eighth club in his career.
He was pleased with his debut but couldn't resist expressing his opinion about Sampaoli. According to Vidal, he felt mistreated by the Argentine coach, although no specific details were provided.
"I'm happy to have had the opportunity to play. Previously, I had a coach, a loser, who didn't know how to appreciate the players. But that's in the past now. I'm happy. I hope to play in the upcoming matches and show what I've got. I want to win," Vidal said after the 2-0 victory against Bahia.
Vidal and Sampaoli worked together between 2012 and 2016 with the Chilean national team and more recently at Flamengo. Under Sampaoli's guidance, Chile won the Copa America in 2015.
