Xavi Simons has been nominated for the Talent of the Month award in the Bundesliga. The RB Leipzig midfielder is up against Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen and Maximilian Beier from 1899 Hoffenheim.
The twenty-year-old Simons, who plays as a false right winger for Leipzig, has had a strong month. He scored against Union Berlin and FC Augsburg and also provided an assist in these matches.
Furthermore, he made an excellent impression in the 0-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach and a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich.
Those performances might be rewarded with an individual trophy, although the competition is substantial. Beier (20) scored in three of the four matches that Hoffenheim played in September, and Boniface (22) finished on four out of four. He did not score in all of Bayer Leverkusen's matches but scored twice against SV Darmstadt and twice against FC Heidenheim.
