Manager Gareth Southgate has called up the two youngsters (aged 21 and 18, respectively) and 26-year-old Konsa due to several injuries in his squad. Jude Bellingham, James Maddison, and Callum Wilson were already absent, and on Monday morning, the name of Lewis Dunk was added to the list.

Palmer and Lewis are being promoted from the Under-21 team of The Three Lions. The former was crucial for Chelsea on Sunday, scoring the 4-4 in injury time against Manchester City from the penalty spot. Lewis remained on the bench throughout the entire match.

England will face Malta on Friday in the Euro 2020 qualifiers. Three days later, they have a match against and in North Macedonia. The English team already secured their place in the tournament taking place next summer in Germany last month.
