In 2020, Ziyech made a transfer from Ajax to Chelsea for forty million euros. Despite participating in over a hundred matches and scoring fourteen goals in the past three seasons, he never managed to establish himself as an undisputed starter.

This season, Ziyech found himself definitively sidelined, and as a result, he wasn't included in Chelsea's training camp and was not assigned a squad number.

Galatasaray has announced that Ziyech is being loaned without a fee and has signed with the Turkish club until mid-2026 after this season. The midfielder had a contract for two more seasons in London. On Wednesday afternoon, the playmaker underwent a medical examination at Galatasaray.

Ziyech had been on the verge of leaving Chelsea on two previous occasions. Last winter, he was close to a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, and earlier in this transfer window, he saw a move to Al-Nassr fall through.
