Zlatan refuses to entertain football retirement: 'I still have something to give.'

Despite a physically demanding year, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, at the age of 41, still has no intention of stopping. The Swedish forward, despite playing only 144 minutes this season, does not see any reason for a football retirement.

"I'm not a quitter, but there must also be joy in what you do. I haven't thought about retiring yet because I believe I still have something to offer," says Ibrahimovic in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

At AC Milan, the Swedish striker has a contract that is set to expire. "I am here to help Milan, and I want to do that on the field. At a certain age, there is no more ego. You don't need to prove yourself anymore, and you do it to give, not to receive. I want to continue, even though I need to find a balance. It's like in life, without serenity and stability, you're like a bomb. And bombs can explode."

If the Rossoneri do not renew the striker's contract, the Swede doesn't have to despair. Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani are reportedly interested in bringing him to AC Monza. "Galliani has been calling me every day for the past three years to tell me how beautiful Monza is and that there is a contract waiting for me."

Since 2019, Ibrahimovic has been in his second spell at AC Milan. Previously, the Swede played for Malmö FF, Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and LA Galaxy.
